چکیده
Bicycle-sharing systems (BSSs) are an effective solution to reduce private car usage in most cities and influential factor encouraging citizens shift more sustainable transport modes. In this sense, the location of BSS stations has a critical impact on system’s efficiency. This study proposed integrated geographic information system–multi-criteria decision-making (GIS-MCDM) framework that includes analytic hierarchy process (AHP), technique for order preference by similarity ideal (TOPSIS), spatial data processing GIS determine ranking potential locations stations. The results GIS-MCDM method can be used both planning new or expanding one is currently under operation. was applied case GIRA, Lisbon, Portugal. it, criteria were selected four categories, including from literature extracted available transaction data; addition, we also suggested some criteria. rebalancing operator’s staff decision makers via their responses AHP questionnaire. believed main criterion “city infrastructure” with two sub-criteria “population density” “slope” important. Furthermore, proximity “bike network” sub-criterion “proximity current bike stations” had less importance. Each criterion’s weight inconsistency rate obtained using Expert Choice software. values each created utilizing ArcGIS software, its network analyst module employed applying techniques. Based suitability map, city’s center suitable area establishing Forty-five identified those areas ranked TOPSIS technique.

On-line Dynamic Station Redeployments in Bike-Sharing Systems
Bike-sharing has seen great development during recent years, both in Europe and globally. However, these systems are far from perfect. The uncertainty of the customer demand often leads to an unbalanced distribution of bicycles over the time and space (congestion and/or starvation), resulting both in a loss of customers and a poor customer experience. In order to improve those aspects, we propo...
متن کاملProbabilistic Modelling of Station Locations in Bicycle-Sharing Systems
We present a simulation methodology for generating the locations of stations in Bicycle-Sharing Systems. We present several methods that are inspired by the literature on spatial point processes. We evaluate how the artificially generated systems compare to existing systems through a case study involving 11 cities worldwide. The method that is found to perform best is a data-driven approach in ...

Bike Sharing Systems became popular in recent years to extend the public transportation network of cities or regions. Most research in this area focuses on finding the optimal locations for bike sharing stations. Still various approaches on how to operate such a system efficiently exist. The usefulness of a bike sharing system strongly depends on the user convenience which is directly connected...
متن کاملA Stochastic Analysis of Bike Sharing Systems
As more people move back into densely populated cities, bike sharing is emerging as an important mode of urban mobility. In a typical bike sharing system, riders arrive at a station and take a bike if it is available. After retrieving a bike, they ride it for a while, then return it to a station near their final destinations. Since space is limited in cities, each station has a finite capacity ...
